Yep! It's Blog Hop time again! My first project for the hop is a shadow box.
I began with a dollar store wooden shadow box. There was a glass front on it, but I didn't use that. I painted an undercoat of yellow, put a layer of crackle on, then painted it all over in white. It gives it that shabby chic look. I stamped the cottage. It was a stamp I had purchased from a friend. I colored it with my distress markers. I then put on some
Flowersoft (
Meadow, and
Autumn) so accentuate the flowers and bushes around the cottage.
I then used stamps by
Mabel Lucie Attwell - Garden Accessories. They are really cute. I put some Glossy Accents on the watering can and garden basket to stiffen them up a bit. I cut them out along with some flowers from the stamp collection. I pop-dotted the basket and can to give them a bit of dimension.
I used some Prima flowers from my stash and added some bling from Miriam's Crafting Supplies.
These cute tiny butterflies are from the Garden Accessories stamp set also. I added some Copper Stickles to give them a little sparkle. I also used a little piece of vine ribbon that I had in my stash.
I pop-dotted the cute smiling flower to add dimension. And I made a banner strip by using some of my letter stamps, and inking the edges. I think it adds a kind of warmth to the project.
Finally, the beaded trim on the bottom is two types. The hanging trim I bought from a local dollar store. The strip of yellow beading is from Angela Holt! I just loved how this turned out! Leave me some love and let me know what you think!
